A Walk Between Heaven and Earth: a Personal Journal and the Creative Process

For many people, journal writing allows them to live a deeply-felt and richly-examined life. It also can provide a source of ideas for writing and other arts. Creative writing coach, Burghild Holzer, takes one year of her life and records its joys, sadnesses, and discoveries. Even though she chose to do this at the beginning of what she thought would be typical year, life brings her unexpected events. The reader is drawn into the heartache but also the joys of the year; Holzer teaches us how to live deeply each moment and pay attention to the world around us. In one scene she adviser a student to be particularly open to strangers this week. The woman returns months later and introduces her stranger, her first child. This book inspires as well as instructs. Recommended for people interested in journalling and creative writing.
